Favorite find for adult milkshakes
After an insane day-long whitewater kayaking course, we hit Crusade Burger Bar in Yorkville, Illinois. The outlandish names of Crusade’s milkshakes are only outdone by the shakes themselves!
Favorite tour
Tours are a big part of our travel strategy. One of us (cough! Homer) used to think tours were a bit too nerdy. But now we all appreciate tours for the deeper level of understanding and engagement they provide a destination.
This quarter’s absolute favorite tour was a stop on The B-Line (Northern Kentucky’s Bourbon trail): a tour of Boone County Distilling Company.

If you go, not only will you sample some amazing Kentucky Bourbons, but you will also learn a sipping technique to avoid the Bourbon burn on the way down. Nerd alert: there’s chemistry involved!
Favorite pie photo
We have a whole web page devoted to pie, so you know we get a lot of pie photos! This quarter’s favorite pie pic comes right out of the cherry capital of the country, Door County, WI.

Favorite new-to-us IG’er
We follow a lot of travelers on IG, so it can get a bit uninspiring to see pics of the same destinations over and over. Which is why we love the refreshing feel of a travel sketcher’s IG page, where no post will ever be a repeat of someone else’s!
Quite a difference watching Tahiti evolve on the page, as compared to just scrolling past yet another gorgeous, but repetitive beach scene, don’t you think!

I thought I was paving the way to a new future. I was, but not in the way I expected.
Theresa’s story is a good reminder that a dream might not lead where we expected to go; it could lead somewhere even better. And maybe even back again!
